I like to swap the 500gb HDD to a 250gb SSD. In BIOS, the SSD cannot be detected. It shows "Empty" under HDD.

There is no menu in the BIOS to change the setting of HDD. (I am in the "Supervisor" level in BIOS)

The 250gb SSD is brand new and I have tested in other laptop that it is working fine.

I have also use another SSD to test on it but the BIOS just can't detect it.

I have also disable TPM in BIOS but it does not help.

However once I switch to a HDD(using my spare HDD), it can be showed up in BIOS.

    Can someone give some advice?

    Thanks.

Maybe this SSD is not backwards compatible with CF-C2 SATA generation.
Check SSD specs and whether it's possible to turn on something like compatibility mode.

I tested on Sandisk Extreme 250gb, Samsung Evo 250gb and OCZ Sata II 60gb. All can't be detected in BIOS :(

Does the c2 have a different caddy for SSD? or am I thinking of the H2?
Do the SSD's have anything on them? Are they partitioned?
Try booting with a Linux Live CD and see if GParted sees the SSD.

I remember reading something here about SATA mode AHCI or Compatible in the BIOS. A special program from Panny switched modes in the BIOS. It was on a CF52, but it may apply.

On my CF-53 (i5 2520) I have no Supervisor level setup in the BIOS. If you go to the " Advanced" tap in the BIOS, then HDD Controller Setting is it set to AHCI or Compatible...it should be AHCI. (FYI)...Even if you CF-C2 shows no HDD it still will give you the 2 choices of AHCI or Compatible mode. I have used a total of 4 SSD's in my CF-53 and it has seen them all but I have NO Supervisor level setup...maybe this is the problem?

The BIOS in C2 does not allow any changes in the HDD setup. Either it detects it or it shows Empty.
