Hi!
I have a very big Problem with my Panasonic CF-D1. I upgrade the WAN Card to a Intel 7260 with WLAN and Bluetooth. I have both Drivers installed on WIN7 64 bit - this was also sucksfully. WLAN works fine - Bluetooth dont. The Devicemanager dont Show the Bluetooth Card. Can anyone help me?
Technical Data:
Model: CF-D1DW200FZ
OS: Windows 7 64bit
Thank you,

And it will not. Use (install) OEM bluetooth module or ExpressCard->Bluetooth or PCMCIA->Bluetooth or USB->Bluetooth.

Okay. Which is the original Card for models with Bluetooth. I wanted to protect the BT module rather than dust outside
-
I found an Intel 6235 in my Equipment. So i attempt install this WAN Card an install it with the Driver for the CF-19. Maybe it run
-
The WAN Driver he installed. The Bluetooth Driver Installation canceld with "This machine does not support"

The original card for a CF D1D (mk1) was an Intel 6205.
The original card in a CF D1 mk2 was an Intel 6235.
Did this D1 have any card in it at all when you got it?
The 6205 does NOT have Bluetooth on it.
The 6235 DOES have Bluetooth on it.
Odds are the mk1 used a dedicated Bluetooth card. The mk2 and later used the Bluetooth on the Intel card. Panasonic did this same thing on the CF 31 series.
If this is the case, you probably can't get Bluetooth to work on any WLAN card.
This is due to using 2 different ports on the mini PCIE interface of the WLAN card. WIFI uses the pcie port and Bluetooth uses USB port.
Panasonic more than likely did not enable the USB port on the mk1 WLAN mini pcie slot.
Even on models that used Bluetooth on the WLAN card, when you swap the card for a different card, you lose Bluetooth.
I have spent weeks working on this with various Panasonic models. CF 31, CF 19, FZ G1, FZ Q1. The BIOS must not recognize the newer Bluetooth version.
The only way I got a newer card and Bluetooth to work was on a FZ G1 and on a CF 31 by using a second 7260 in the WWAN slot.
WWAN slot uses a USB port.
I would try a 6235 from anything other than a Lenovo or a HP.
I would use the drivers from a CF D1 mk2. They will give the wrong machine error unless you manually unpack the downloaded file using 7zip. Then manually install as administrator by running Pinstall.bat.

Thats an good idea! So i open my Panasonic to remove the WWAN Module but they are connected with a ribbon cable :/ Than i found a second connector for the WAN Card. Which function has this?

The second connector is for WWAN card. Also called a 4g card.
The WLAN (Intel 6205) is in the correct slot. Just remove 6205 and replace with Intel 6235.
I don't understand what ribbon cable you are talking about. -
Hi!
I used your Manual and Change the 6205 against the 6235. Then I install the Driver with the pinstall.bat . WLAN works fine, BT not. In the BT install process he write "connected the Device an click okay"
I mean with "Ribbon cable" the wire at the sim slot
When I plug in the 6235 on the second Slot, works then BT?Last edited: Dec 22, 2018 -
WLAN (WIFI) does not use sim card.
You can try the 6205 in the first slot and the 6235 in the second slot.
I do not know if BT will work or not. It is an experiment.
If it works, you will need to install a Bluetooth antenna of some kind. -
It doesnt function

Good Morning, guys. Its been a long time! Anyway, to OP, On 7260 card. Try taped pin 20 and 51 and after install set the bios into default setting. Let see what happened.

I think these experiments are boring, let's disassemble something new)

I wanted to prevent this solution because of the dust and dirt in the workshop. This would require me to leave a protective flap open :/

Welcome back! -
This might be a dumb question, but is Bluetooth enabled in the BIOS?
Did Bluetooth ever work on this unit?
@BaRRmaley If you are bored, maybe get a couple Macs to work on?BaRRmaley likes this. -
Try it first the one I suggested. There is nothing to lose. I've done it almost 50 times and it works to me from Toughbook to Getac PC. As I said after the installation, set the bios into default to recognized the BT. Don't listen to the people who has nothing to do, Lol....

Shawn, Whats up, man! Is Jeff still around?

Yes Jeff is still around.
We just talked on the phone a couple days ago. He bought an RC plane as new toy.
He stepped away from the computer repair for a bit to have some fun.
I think he got burned out helping me with a CF-U1 Linux OS project.
Give him a call! -
Hello,
I have a CF-D1D (without bluetooth), and after I replaced the wireless card, the OS (win7 64bit) doesn`t see the new card (even on devices manager).
I must activate the new card or someting else? Maybe it must be a special card?
thanks for any answerLast edited by a moderator: Feb 19, 2019 -
Replacing wifi/bluetooth cards on toughbooks can be tricky.
First of all a card from lenovo or hp will not work at all.
2nd of all, I have never got the bluetooth to work on an upgraded card. Has to do with the ports and such. Give us more info.
What is original card model and what is replacement card model?kshyhoo and toughasnails like this. -
thanks for answer and i`m sorry for not complete information,
Orginal card in my CF-D1 was intel centrino advanced n 6205 without BT.
I tried with few card (atheros ar5bxb63 without BT, boardcom bcm94312hmg without BT, atheros ars263 WITH BT etc.) and OS can`t see a new card, even as unknow devices. Every time it looks like the computer was turned on without a physically installed card. I find today a card intel centrino n130 with BT, and the wireless card works good, but bluetooth is still not available (even as unknow devices at devices manager).
All of this cards work properly on other machines.
I have no idea what can i do with this problem.
OS: win7 64bit
thanks for any answer.

D1 might have separate dedicated board for Bluetooth. It looks like it does by the spec sheet.
If your machine did not come with that card, the only way to get bluetooth is with a micro usb or find the dedicated bluetooth card for a D1.
Adding a wifi card with bluetooth will not work.
The reason for the trouble is that on a wifi card, the bluetooth and wifi use different interface ports. Bluetooth uses a usb port and wifi uses pci port.
If the usb port is not connected on the motherboard, no wifi card bluetooth will ever work.
Also the cards may be whitelisted in the bios which means only very specific cards will work.
On Toughbooks with factory 6205 cards, an Intel 6300 was usually the best I could get working.
I would install a custom 3rd antenna and get great performance but no bluetooth.
So the short answer is buy a micro usb bluetooth and use it.toughasnails likes this.
CF-D1 Bluetooth doesnt work
