    Hi

    Can anyone shed some light on how the Toughbook understands it has been docked. Running Windows 7.

    I understand the Comm port on the dock becomes Comm port 2, but tests indicate that it isn't seeing the hardware. I don't know if it understands!

    Have you made sure you have all the drivers installed? I don't know if there are any specific drivers needed for full docking functionality but I'd make sure at least that the panasonic misc driver is installed.

    The dock grounds out one pin on the connector. That completes a circuit which sends a signal to the bios/os and they do their thing.
