This was posted as a deal on TBT and I snapped up the last one. A little more beat up than I was expecting but seems pretty cool so far. I didn't get a base for it yet... Which it looks like I will need to load map software.

It is a CF-H1CSMDG6M... It has a Gobi 2000 WWAN, a fingerprint reader, two batteries, an RFID reader, a bar code reader, camera with dual LED flash, etc.

Though the auction stated there was no OS... I was happy to see a fresh load of W7 from a recovery disk installed already. All the Panny stuff was there.

The thing is the camera in Device Driver... It has a code 10 cannot start for the Professional Financial Camera.

Has anyone ever run across that before?

Finace? As in Finace USB. Try device manager and double click and search properties and ummm tab under properties hardware i.d. Then do a search for that..USB\VID_0718&PID_0639&REV_0100 <<<<<The number that looks like this. I located a Gobi 2000 thataway one time. (sample number only NOT for you device)

Searching for finace will drive ya nuts because of all the miss-spelled fiances out there. I found a driver but don't trust the source.

O.K. here is financial for what appears to be microsoft. http://catalog.update.microsoft.com...updateid=2949bbe6-ba90-48fa-934f-aea6e5a10b1a

    Confusing name.

Jeff... Is shows as (exactly) Professional financial camera

Looking now as you suggested.... We're waiting... We're waiting...

    EDIT:
Blair... The only sites that (apparently) have this file are site that want to download a sh*t ton of software along with the driver...

    Homie don't play that...

    We're looking... We're looking

    Double Edit:

Do people REALLY think I need three free apps on my PC to download their stuff?

    Triple Edit:
There was a driver on Panny I didn't have but downloaded right after I got the tablet... Windows had already installed a driver... I needed to delete the hardware AND drivers and let Panny drivers install.

    Quadruple Edit:
I've seen better camera shots on my 2001 RaZr cell phone I hacked!

I got the camera working... It sucks. (Who didn't know that?) 640X480... Maybe there is a resolution setting I need to play with.

Now... LOL... I installed the GOBI 200 software. It installed on COM6... But then also something else called GOBI 2000 HS-USB NMEA 250F

Now my GPS doesn't work any more.

I think I will wait until I win a cradle for this so I can plug a keyboard into it and look in the BIOS... I don't see any other way to get in! (No way to click F2 on boot with the screen.)

    Time for Brecal and Bed!

    Rick, read this
    http://forum.notebookreview.com/panasonic/654056-cf-h1-camera-resolution-settings.html

    and..Rusty503 posted this....

    http://forum.notebookreview.com/panasonic/583149-cf-h1-input-data-before-windows-loads-without-dock.html

Directly from the CF-H1 Reference Manual:

You can set a start-up password to protect your computer from unauthorized use.
1 Set the password ( page 19), and select [Enabled] in [Password on Boot] in the [Security]
menu of the Setup Utility ( page 63).
    NOTE
To enter the password, you need to set the computer to the Cradle and connect an external keyboard to the Cradle. If the Supervisor Password or User Password has been set, the password input screen will be displayed on starting-up
of the Setup Utility even though [Password on Boot] is set to [Disabled].

Another reason I prefer my Motion C5v. I can tap the first screen with the digitizer pen and can get into the bios. I will have to read up on the CF H2. So far the CF H1 just doesn't impress me that much.

My CF-H1 just arrived. CF-H1CSMDG6M in a great price, Panasonic Windows 7 Pro. fully loaded with only 100 hrs on it. I'm installing all the updates now. Just wondering if I should upgrade to Windows 8 Pro? The tablet is Z540 dual core Atom CPU 1.86Ghz. Is it really worth to upgrade?

Great deals on ebay! I've got the tablet along with 4 batteries for $137  . Also got the docking station CF-VEBH11 for $30, Toughmate H1 sleeve TMH1SLV-P for $26 and the Panasonic power adapter CF-AA1633 for $20

I'm always happy when there is a new Toughbook around! :D

I like challenges. I forgot to mention that I also have the OEM Panasonic Windows 7 restore dvd $25 also from ebay. :D

Any reason why not to upgrade to W8? Is the CF-H1 not going to make it?

Hi, does anyone have a service manual for CF-H1?
I would like to add RAM in my CFH1CDJBZDM, and eventually an SSD drive, but I'm a bit anxious to open it, first because I don't know how to Remove the caps above the screws without damage
if anyone Could Share an experience in disassembling a CF-H1, I would be grateful
    Thanks

    .....................

    Quoted from another thread:
As a side note, if anyone was wondering, the ram in these is not upgradeable. Not just "You can't get to it without cracking the case and voiding warranty", but actually no slot to upgrade, existing 1gb ram is soldered to the board.

FWIW: I had a Gobi 2000 in my H1 and the GPS would NEVER acquire satellites because of the casing. I think it totally blocks the signal... That same GOBI card worked FINE in my CF-31...

This is my first post here, so hello everyone!

I recently bought NOS CF-H1 MK 1,5 with Windows XP. Everything works perfectly, except for gobi 2000 cellular modem. I made a huge amount of research (including this forum) and although I know what's wrong, I'm not being able to fix it. My H1 was shipped with american like firmware installed on gobi, but I live in Poland, so I cannot connect to local cellular networks. I recently obtained (I think so) correct firmware from Lenovo, which apparently uses the same modem in some of their devices. But I'm not able to change the firmware. I tried gobiloader (only for win 7), hacking into original Panasonic CSA, using Lenovo software and lots of other stuff.

Is there any dedicated European CSA software for this particular model? Or maybe you know the way to change the firmware?

I would appreciate any help. Boss told me to buy some device with cellular modem for controlling surveying GPS receiver, and BAH I failed. Thankfully it connects to internet via Bluetooth phone, but it is rather annoying solution.

    With Regards
    Jan Koziel

We have a lot of overseas members on here so hopefully they will be able to help you out on what to use...
