    Hi All,

I'm trying to install the 'official' Panasonic recovery dvd for win7 64bit on my CF-H2 mk1, yet everytime I try I get an error:

    \windows\systems32\boot\winload.exe

    Status: 0xc0000001

I can install 32bit no problems but get the same problem on the 64bit version. I'm currently on my third replacement disc from Panasonic. So doubt all 3 are faulty.

    Any ideas ?

Tried switching Bios form AHCI to compatable and still get the error. Also the USB Optical Disk is set as the first point to look at on booting.

Is the usb DVD drive an official Panasonic one?
Other brands will not work properly

No it's an Asus blu ray drive, the official 32bit disc installs fine from it, but the Dual Layer 64bit disc doesn't.

I still bet it is the drive.
I had all kind of bizzare install issues until I got a real Panasonic usb DVD drive.

I have a Panasonic CF-VDRRT3 also but that doesn't read the DL DVD that Panasonic stick the 64bit OS on :(

    hmmm ...

yep , it is easy enough to use/get/have a dvd drive that won't read a given dual layer disk .
(as for why , it's above my pay grade)
as a work around , or , in some cases the only way , i use a known good dvd drive (actually a couple of them) with one of those whatever-to-usb devices with good results .
as long as the target machine can actually read a usb port on bios boot , half the battle is over .

    about those *devices* :
the "universal usb to ?" i bought was only 12 bucks and came with a couple of cables and a 5VDC power supply that proceeded to crap-out after a few uses .
no problem ... i had a couple of 5VDC power supplies in the hell-box ... a little slicing and dicing , some solder and heatshrink to attach a scavenged molex-to-sata power connector (black and red leads only) ...
    and bob's yer uncle .
do not rely on the power from the usb port to power up stuff .

    however ...
a replacement disk is a good place to start if you do not have the option(s) to explore other avenues of *attack* .
