Saw this PIII 866MHz CF-M34 for sale and I was wondering what "WIRELESS READY" meant? Is that antenna routed inside the case for standard use? Does it have two PCI slots internally? Thought only the Centrino version had that.

The ones with that antenna have the built in 802.11b card that has a transfer rate of 11mps. No, they do not have the built in dual mini pci slots, only the 1.0GHz models did (or the ones that users, like me, have installed). That installed antenna does not work well with g/n because of the frequency for which it is tuned. The non-movable antenna on the side of the 1.0GHz is the one to use with standard 802.11g wifi.

That one shipped with a Cisco Mini PCI 350 and yes it did have a dual mini pci slot relay card. One slot for the Modem/Ethernet combo and the other for The Cisco card.
Also the 1ghz units do not have dual mini pci. They have a single mini pci for the wifi and a separate connector for the modem, the lan is on the motherboard. -
So can the Cisco card be removed for a standard mini pci wireless card? And does this internal antenna have the standard little round clip on connector?
-
The Cisco card be removed and replaced with a different card but there have been instances where they would not recognize anything other than a Cisco or Orinoco Mini PCI cards. They use a standard U.Fl connector.

So here after all these years of lusting after the 1.0GHz models because they had the built in wifi, only to find out they did not have the dual mini pci, but the 866 I have does. I may have to try another card in the slot and see what will/won't work. Now where is that Engenius I bought.....
