    Hi everyone...

I bought a CF-M34UHVZDM on ebay a few months ago and have been playing around with it when time permits. With the help of a few people around here who PMed with me early on... I got most everything working. Now I just need to get the sound working. For some reason I cannot get the driver to load. I downloaded the correct driver from the Panasonic website but still no luck. There seems to be no driver per se to uninstall and start again.

I have also noticed that the stock wifi antenna is lousy! I have added an additional antenna in the form of the "paddle" type wifi antenna. It is the square foil type if you know what I mean. There is a spot under the battery and it looks like it is plastic. It gets a fair signal but since the antenna is basically just under the palmrest... When I type it cuts off the signal to some degree. So I need to fabricate another type of antenna.

So... Any thoughts? I appreciate any help here...

    Thanks!

What I have on mind is, I bought a cf-29 LCD lid with the antena intact and gonna install that to the m34 sideways.

The gps antena( patch antena ) is located where your wi-fi antena installed.

With regards to your sound problem its a bet strange to me coz mine has no problem at all. I used this driver ( m34_5_d020151 )

My first thought was that I had a bad speaker... But there is nothing showing in the Sound area under Control Panel... It is just not installing for some reason.

Pretty cool idea with the CF-29 antennas. I may try something similar. Like going to the Dollar Store and seeing what piece of crap or toy I can find that has a plastic piece shaped the way I need/want. I've done that in the past for mods on other things. The store clerks think you are a shoplifter because you can't tell them what you want and you have a sort of vacant stare as you walk up and down each isle.

I'm not interested in getting GPS into the 34... Yet... This is mainly for my wife to use around the house or out on the deck or back yard. Wifi strength is the main thing for me on this one. Though I might get around to trying to figure out how to install GPS eventually.

I've got a program I use called Everest 2007 which is basically a VERY advanced DMI. It is showing NO soundcard at all. Anyone with any other ideas? By the way... I'm using it now and the keyboard is WAY too small for me. You almost need a stylus for the keyboard!

By the way... I can't get the scroll function to work on the touchpad either... Does the 34 use the scroll function? I don't see it in the properties. I'm pretty sure I have the correct driver for that.

    Thanks!
