I have a MK3 CF-M34 (700Mhz) and have just installed a rubberized backlit keyboard and cannot get it to light. The F11 key lights in red, but when I try to use the FN + keyboard key nothing happens. I have the latest keyboard driver and have tried everything to the extent of my knowledge and still no luck. Help!

A lot of the older keyboards don't light up correctly... That may be a problem too. I have several rubber keyboards that either only light at one level or have a group or several groups of keys that do not light.

Check the connectors and make sure they are free from any dirt or debris... Use a toothbrush or compressed air to blow it out. Make sure that the ribbon cable ends are good with no missing tinning at the ends... Sometimes they peel up or chip off with wear.

Thanks for the advice! I reinstalled both ribbon cables and finally got it to work and all three light levels work with the key. Now, if I could just get all the letters and numbers red like the F11 key!

Uhhhh... Yeah... You can do that... Dip the whole keyboard in boiling red dye... It will dye ALL the keys red... But may not work after that!
