One of my Cf-M34s has a strange problem. I installed Windows XP sp2 on it, and it worked okay.
But now, when i want to boot it , it starts up, shows the PANASONIC LOGO but then does not do anything further. Its doesnt start windows XP anymore. It just hangs on the Panasonic logo. F2 also doesnt work..
Does anybody know this problem, and has a solution for it ?
Could it be , that its a problem with the ACPI/Windows XP shutdown function and re-booting the machine ?

Might be a hardware problem. Disconnect wireless, extra ram and harddrive to see if it boots normally then.

Same thing happens on my cf52 when I try to boot with a sata in the media bay. I pull the drive and everything is fine. It is definitely a hardware issue. Pull everything and reinstall one at a time.

The problem was the extra memory. I tried 3 of the same 64MB ram upgrades, and they all reported random. Sometimes 128MB total, sometimes 65 or even 63MB, etc.etc. Very odd, that when i rebooted this CF-M34 several times, and left the memory module inside, it reported difrent memory sizes after each reboot. An error I didnt see before, and i work with PCs/laptops since 1994.
I then tried another of the same brand/type, and it just worked alright. Strange that even memory modules of the same batch/brand can give difrent effects.
Anyhow, the toughbook now works okay. It doesnt hang in the Panasonic logo screen anymore, and boots nice to Windows XP. Had some ram-testers running for 3 hours, and a system stability run for 2 hours or so, and all worked allright.
