    Hello,

I'm attempting to switch the LCD & touchscreen from one CF-T5 to the other, since one machine has a bad backlight.

However, after removing all the screws, I still can't get the top and bottom cover separated. It seems to be stuck right at the DC input and ethernet/modem jacks.

Any suggestions, or pointers to instructions/pictures/manuals?

    Many thanks!
    - Alex

That area has hidden screw covered by a plastic piece. Anyway, why you do the hardway while you can do the more easy way.
Here is the tip; On the unit the that you are going to replace. Open the LCD Lid cover and then remove the harness from the LCD and the cable that goes onto TS pcb and then put it aside. After that uncrew the hinges cover and it will separate the whole thing. Do the same thing to the other one and then put it to the system. then plug in the harnes and the ts cable. put back the lid cover and screw all the necessary screw with hinges cover and your set.

Many thanks for the advice, ohlip! Also, thanks to toughasnails for the email.

I'm going to give it a shot, tonight, and see if I can get further. I'll post an update, after I'm done.

    Thanks!

Hi, I'm having trouble disassembling my CF-T5 to replace the CMOS battery. I unscrewed all the bottom screws but still can't get it to open up. Does anyone know how to do this, any help would be much appreciated. Thank you.

If I remember right, there are 2 thin metal clips under the battery that hold the top of keyboard. You need to slide them out, as well as removing the screws.

I found two disassembly/assembly videos for the CF-T5 (Japanese, Let's Note version).
Not very helpful as the protagonist does not seem to have a clue of how to proceed, and does not show much
of the interesting parts like the keyboard clips

I once tried to disassemble a CF-T7. If the T5 is anything like it --and I think it is-- it's going to be some kind of crazy Japanese puzzle box. I'm glad I'm not a technician, because I don't have the patience.

There are 4 clips under the battery and drive,I believe. They are sealed in plastic and you need to cut that and slid the clips out. This is a CF-F8 but the clips are the same, you can see where I took 5 of them out.
