Hello all,
Man I would really appreciate some help on this problem. I love this CF-U1AQCGZAM that I bought on Ebay for $30. Put a 128gb Msata using ZIF adapter in it, works great.
My problem is the touchscreen calibration is off. I have tried installing:
-Windows Vista Business (original software on computer)
-Windows 7 Professional Ultimate
-Windows 7 Professional
I have tried installing Panasonic's drivers for these systems (FCL USB Zoom Pen Tablet driver installation program), every time I try to install it gives me an error message right away "The installation isn't complete"
If I go to Tablet PC settings-General-Calibrate I get the error message "No suitable hardware was found to calibrate."
As you can imagine, 3 operating systems later, tried everything possible, I am getting pretty tired of this! Any ideas?

I just got a CF-U1AQCGZ2M-. Not arrived yet. My first U1.
Did you install the drivers as Administrator?
Did you install ALL of the Panasonic drivers?
The Misc driver and others are very important for proper operation. -
Try [menu] type "cali..." select calibration from Windows menu. Click reset box and then re-boot twice. Then calibrate again using windows calibration utility. (Run as admin...remember to save.) IOW use Windows calibration; nothing else.
note: HID section in device manager should show two hid devices for Vista/Windows. Can you send a screenshot of your device manager?
Is there a driver bundle for the U1?.....looking.................... http://www.panasonic.com/business/iframes/toughbook-computer-support-search-downloads.asp
Hmmm, no bundle for MK 1.
Here is sample from here: https://pc-dl.panasonic.co.jp/dl/do...4&p2=1640214&score=1.0&sri=12840624&trn_org=2Last edited: Sep 6, 2018 -
Looks to me like the hardware is almost identical between mk1 and mk2
Mk2 is slightly faster and has more ram.
That means if you download the mk2 Win7 driver bundle and open it with 7zip, you can run the Pinstall.bat file on a mk1 for a Win 7 install.
I will verify this once I receive mine.Last edited: Sep 6, 2018 -
I have installed all drivers in the past, this time around (Vista) I went right to the misc then tried the touch screen.
I only have 1 item under HID in device manager, which makes sense because I cant finish the driver installation and therefore can't calibrate. You are correct, no bundle! Have to drivers 1 by 1. -

I found the U1 W7 mk1 drivers on the Panasonic Japan site. It doesn't have all the utilities , so I grabbed the missing ones for a mk2.
Installed everything and it would not let me calibrate with the stylus.
It did let me calibrate with my fingertip.
Clean W7 install from a AIO W7-W8-W10 usb stick.
Calibrate was in control panel under "Tablet settings"Last edited by a moderator: Sep 13, 2018 -
Nothing to calibrate actually means Windows 7 can not see the hardware. Windows 7 uses it's own drivers. Sounds a bit like a mechanical issue. Not seeing the hardware could be as simple as a loose ground wire. ummmmm or maybe switch to touchscreen instead of tablet.
In W7 control panel, two hid drivers mean tablet, one Fujitsu driver means touch. Enter bios and try tablet or touch...not Auto. It's on the main page.
antiX Linux reacts to touch, as do a couple more. Puppy Linux (no reaction), Xubuntu I believe saw it....actually any of the Ubuntu distros should react. MX Linux also reacts out of the box.
Successfully booted from a Windows LIVEUSB. Expected a Fujitsu driver but found one USB touchpanel driver in control panel. I have touch selected in bios...not Auto or Tablet. If I remember clearly, touch did NOT work with Auto/Tablet several days ago.
When I get a hdd mounted I'll revisit the subject....(test W7)Last edited: Sep 16, 2018Shawn likes this. -
Ran W7 on my CF-U1 MK2 today for the first time.
No calibration found in Windows....so re-booted and set bios to tablet. not auto
Calibration found with two choices...tablet and touch.
Selected tablet 'cause in made sense? No workie.....error seen. Tried it again and W7 calibration did the pop-up...this time I selected touch. Works fine! So 4 point calibration works but 16 point says no way.
I DID NOT add any drivers. Just used the built-in W7 package.
FWIW and good luck.Shawn likes this. -
