Hello. Is it possible to upgrade RAM in CF-U1 with Atom Z520 processor running @1.33GHz? This CF-U1 has 1GB of RAM. Also can the 16GB SSH Drive
be changed for 32 or 64GB? Thank you.

You can NOT upgrade the RAM in this little guy unfortunatly.

The HDD is subjective because it's proprietary. It CAN be done though.

Panasonic noted that the HDD can be upgraded; but that it's supposed to be done by a Panasonic technician due to the need of "specialized equipment."

@boomtown; if you want to try it by yourself:

    Panasonic 32GB SSD Kit for CF-U1 - Manufacturer Part# CF-WSDU1031

    Only $960.79!

The HDD is a proprietary SATA SSD, NOT a 1.8" ZIF.

The H1 is an SATA 1.8" however.

Hello. Looks, that I will be better with CF-H1. I was going to use CF-U1 for GPS on the boat and for email/skype on the go. The idea was to replace CF-M34 Mk7 and CF-07 display with one unit. I liked the idea of the keyboard on CF-U1. How will the CF-H1 work for GPS/email/skype? Question to Rob, are you happy with your CF-H1 on the boat? Is it Ok in bright sun? Is WiFi ok?
I did see Rob's pictures of CF-H1, looks great. Thanks, regards Voytek.

I havent actually taken it on the boat yet, However I can tell you a few things:

    1) It has a 500 nit screen which is the same brightness as a CF-29, and when I had my 29 YEARS ago, it was FINE in the sun.
    2) I had my H1 out in the sun yesterday and it was fine (not as good as the CF-31, but much better than my C1).
    3) WIFI works good as expected on it, I use ATT 3G and that works great as well.
    4) I am using the built in GPS in the GOBI 2000 module (my unit came with a GOBI 1000 module which doesn't have GPS on it), and it works great!
    5) Best part: I have the best pricing around for H1's! Contact my via PM if you are interested! I have over 200 in stock!

    That's all :)

    Thanks
