Hello. I'm in need of desk port replicator for my CF-29 and my CF-30. I know, that Panasonic CF-VEB272 has USB1 port and when you use it with CF-29 it stays USB1 and not changes to USB2. Will CF-VEB272A dock have USB2? Cant find any information. Best regards, Voytek.

I'm pretty sure you are correct. I have a WEB273 for my car, and I believe the WEEB273A has the 2.0 on it.

I know for a fact, that CF-VEB272 will stay USB1, regardless what is docked.
    There are 3 other models; CF-VEB272A, CF-VEB272AW and CF-VEB272A2W.
I believe, that CF-VEB272A2W is USB2. Question is; are CF-VEB272A and AW
USB2? Would like info if anybody knows. Voytek.

Now all is clear. CF-VEB272 and CF-VEB272A only support USB v.1.1, docks
    CF-VEB272AW and CF-272A2W support USB v.2.0 Thanks.

The other issue is, of course, the price. The earlier models are usually much cheaper and you always have 1 USB 2 port on the side of the later model Toughbooks available while they're in the dock. I've picked these up for very short money on occasion for vehicle installations and have one connected to my dock in the office. Havis Rugged Communications Hub
Something to consider if you need a lot of peripherals whilst docked. Remember, mice, gps, bluetooth, keyboards, etc don't really need USB 2 to function properly.

I was wandering, what will be the difference between the models. CF-VEB272AW and CF-VEB272A2W no pictures look exactly the same including same ports on the back. The only difference I noticed is power dongle included with A2W (to connect yellow tip power adapter to the dock). The other difference is about $100.00 in price.

Like I said, they will all work. For the $100 difference including shipping I'll happily send you an old style power supply unless you think you can get one for less ;)
