The -01 sounds like it is not usb supported and will only work with legacy ps2 ports
Try using the laptop ps2 port

The first link is what Cap reported on early
The rubber backlite keyboard is changed to a standard type
    So right that off

The second link , member Orion90 received a decent keyboard reported on a earlier post in this thread

It is extremely easy to spot the ones which have been changed to standard keyboards, no stripe on space bar, no backlight. The ones changed from emissive to rubber, if there are any, would need a closer look.

the buybdl guy says in the fine print that these are NOT backlit. got 2 of these from him and pictures he showed me of the -02 units did look different and did have line on space bar, so I ASSumed they were backlit, but NOT!!!!!!!! but anyway got 2 -03's that worked fine. The cracychit1 guy, doesn't pack things well and keys wind up broken or missing in bottom of package. He does sell full package with cables monitors and KB's that mine was packaged better but were no icons on all the fn keys. I think he still has a number of these left to sell. I may buy a few more just to see if I can set up a virtual type setup from one laptop with workstations if I can figure out what all this means, for what its worth..........Driller

Just bought my CF-VKBL03 keyboard from buybdl on FleaBay and all was in order. Keyboard was well packed and included two sets of cables (which I didn't need). Keyboard was in great shape showing minimal use.
Very pleased with the product and the service.

That's because I wrote him some time back and explained how to tell if the backlit keyboard was still installed. He inspected, determined they had been changed and wrote me saying he was going to edit the description accordingly. Guess he did.

What did you do with the cables?

Also; the seller has for sale a Touch Screen Mk6 M-34 Toughbook (CF-M34VHFZDM).

not that difficult, just don't get too vigorous on removing the flat ribbon cables and make sure you get the smaller cable on the right folded gently without a crease! to fit into the connectors. the connectors have a little darker colored slip fit end that allows you to gently pry it forward on either side of the ribbon cable about 1mm that unlocks it so old cable comes out easier, reverse proceedure to reinstall then push the little lock collar end to cinch it up. you'll have fun keying in the dark.....................Driller
oh yes, toughbook fever is the next issue you'll have to deal with.
