    Hi,

I know it possible looks like a strange request, but has anyone a CF-VNB3101 Leather Case/Protection for CF-31 toughbooks. Can be old/broken, I'm just looking for detailed dimensions to get a custom one made. I don't like the protectors offered by Panasonic (Nylon stuff).
Spend some serious time on the web to find a used one for purchase, but without success. Every kind of help would be very nice. Thanks in advance!

    Saludos,

    Peter

I am guessing the dimensions of a CF 31 are almost the same as a CF 30.

If you are going to get a custom one made then who ever does it will need or should need a 31 in front of him to go by. Not some dimensions I send you...

    i agree ...
a custom case , made by someone that has never made one for a particular unit before , should have the item in front of them in order to assure a "no complaint" product .

A saddlemaker can build the case around the machine. I recommend saddle skirting leather, veg tanned 6-8 oz. Material $15 per square foot for good American tanned skirting. Brass D-rings and buckle.

This project will take the best of a side of leather. (half a cow) If scars are present the case could be tooled or stamped. You don't want leather from the flanks...stretchy. You might as well buy the side of leather and have a couple belts made too.

A somewhat collapsible case can be made with front and back/lid of veg tanned and sides of 6oz. latigo. I made half a saddle bag this way one time. She called it a purse.

With more consideration a double shoulder would be better. (Goes from one shoulder of the donatee up over the back to the other shoulder. Less waste higher price. Also makes the best belts.

((Higher price per sq. foot but less than half the sq. footage of a side. Firm leather with very little stretch.))

In case anyone was thinking of asking....I get $50/hour plus material....if I work. :D

And from the work I have seen on your website I would say worth every penny.

"Firm leather with very little stretch"
almost sounds like a description of skin of some of those sun worshiping gals from the 70's .
