CF-VZSU71, CF-VZSU46, batteries

The CF-VZSU71 is recommended for CF52 mk4 and later, but not the earlier mks
Why?

Voltage is lower than the CF-VZSU46. but the CF-VZSU46 will work in all CF52's

 

I think I need to do a battery thread for the CF29, CF51 CF52, CF53, CF30, CF31

A lot of different batteries with different voltages and amperage's.

What's important is that all of these batteries will physically interchange for the most part..CF29 and CF51 are a tiny bit different.
but they are not all completely electrically compatible. They MAY work in various mode Toughbooks but not efficiently.

VZSU29
VZSU46
VZSU65
VZSU71
VZSU72

I eliminated the letters at the end of each model.

 

VZSU71 is 10.8v and 69Wh 6750 mah
VZSU65 is 11.1v and 56Wh 5.2Ah
VZSU29 is 11.1v and 6.6Ah 6600mah
VZSU46 is 10.65v and 8.55Ah
VZSU72 is 4500mah

You explained why my i noticed my CF-53 i5 is getting such poor performance with the VZSU72 they gave me as a replacement battery. I guess I need to get VZSU71 instead. Thanks for the clarification on the batteries and their compatibility and features.

 

I may be able to help you with a battery..

 

In my opinion it is best to get the same model batteries if using more than one and do a recalibration for those batteries voltage and mah ratings.
I have used a VZSU46, VZSU72, and VZSU65 in the same laptop without recalibration. The laptop gets confused and reacts unpredictably.

 

Someone pm'ed me about batteries so I thought a bump was needed

That being said, where do the 29AS fit into the picture? Just wondering with a bunch sitting here.

 

A VZSU29 battery is designed for a CF 29, CF 51, and early CF 52.

They do seem to work in a CF 30 and CF 31. Although they have lower run time than a VZSU46 battery

 

I have a CF-53 MK2 with a VZSU71 battery.
Can i use a VZSU46 in it, or is it not recommended ?
I can buy original VZSU46 here in Europe or aftermarket VZSU71, what do i do ?

Do Not Use This Product With a Battery Pack Other Than the One Specified Use only the specified battery pack (CF-VZSU71U) with your product. Use of battery packs other than those manufactured and supplied by Panasonic may present a safety hazard (generation of heat, ignition or rupture)

 

I am using a VZSU46 battery in my CF53A. It seems to last longer than the VZSU71

 

I have had my 53 now for 4 years now and still have the same battery. About 18,000 hours on it and get 4+ hours on it. Try getting that on a aftermarket battery. Go with the OEM battery.

I did a tour on Apple (for work reasons) but got back to the beloved Toughbook
There are a bunch of 53´s for cheap (around 500 euro) in Germany, They are in very good shape with low hours, touchscreen and emissive keyboard.
I love them, have my 52 in use for years now and still going strong with daily use.

I asked about the battery because i want a spare to run the 53 a longer time without the adapter.
If someone of you guys have a battery for the multibay for sell, i am willing to pay a good price for it as i did not find them here in Europe.

I have a couple media bay batteries for the CF31.
Is the second battery an option for the CF53?
The CF54 also has an optional second battery

 

I don´t know, how can i find out ?

Edit : there is no quick release for the DVD, so i think it is not possible on a 53.

 

It's possible.
Not practical but possible.
Jumper cables and a automobile battery..
It weighs just under 75 pounds...
