    Hi there,
I have recently bought toughbook cf-w2 and I love it, except for two problems. First is there an internal microphone built in? When I go to options there is one listed and in the menu when you can see the level of sounds in the speaker and microphone once there was something in the microphone bar, but maybe there is no internal mic and I am just stupid to look for one. Secondly I have problems with wireless, the card is wifi intel 2100 3b. When I boot linux the wireless works like a charm, no problems. I have problems when working in win xp/7, I have tried numorous drivers (from panasonic site/intel) always problems, and when I finally start using it, it loses conection every 20 seconds and the speed is just silly. I need to work on windows if not I would just stick to linux, is there anything I can do with the card? It does connect in windows and works great in linux so there is no hardware problem. Thank for help

Replace the intel 2100 card, its just too old ,and outdated having only 802.11b and bandwidth up to 11 Mbps
I have found the same issues that you are having with all the older Toughbooks that came with that card
A intel 2200bg will work much better for reliable connections and throughput, and is very inexpensive used
