Anyone know how to keep the monitor from auto dimming when I run it on batteries? I know it does it to save battery life but when I use it outside I can barely see the screen.

Welcome to Toughbook forum...in W7 and XP go to Control Panel / Power Options / Change Plan Setting....You may have to go into " change advance power setting" and change it in there too

Also when asking a question it always helps us better if we know which model of Toughbook you have...just post you FULL model number like this for example CF-19FHGAXAM
