Soo frustrating. I sent my laptop in for service 2 years ago, the DC jack was busted on the laptop. Guess what, it's failed again and my warranty is over. For a toughbook, I wish they could have made the DC JACK tough. I love this laptop, but wish they got the DC jack right. Has anybody themself replaced the DC IN JACK? I have found a service manual for a similar model, and it has instructions to replace the DC IN JACK. There is a list of part numbers in the back, is it possible to order the parts? where? If anybody has the exact manual for my model it might useful. The model #CF-Y5LWFZZBM

I have changed a lot of DC jacks. You probably don't need to buy from Panasonic. I buy the replacement jacks cheap on fleabay. Last time I got smart and ordered 10 of em. The one I was using as a replacement on my CF 51 did not have the metal shield around it. I saved the shield from the original and Robert's your mother's brother. I have done a bunch of CF 50's also. They are easier because they don't have the shield. I need to use a good soldering iron and watch the heat as to not damage the mommy board. The heat shield is a pain to remove. It works like a heat sink. I ended up use a soldering gun  and just touching the solder connection very quickly. HP jacks are easier to desolder for some reason.
