I have a CF-18 Mk4, and it doesnt want to connect to my iPhone's personal hotspot. Sometimes it will, others it just displays Acquiring IP Address, and the wifi tray icon will flash to not connected, then back. I have the latest Intel wifi driver installed.

When I boot into ubuntu, it will connect happily all day long, which leads me to think it is a driver issue.

    Any suggestions?

    Thanks

I too am having trouble connecting to the wifi hotspot on my 4s. I have a CF-29N using the Intel(R) PROSet/Wireless driver. I can connect to my CenturyLink wireless router and it works great. When I attempt to connect to the iphone hotspot I type in my password and the program on the CF-29 shows "connecting" but it never connects. Also tried on a CF-29H with the same results. Thanks for the help.

Delete the Proset program and reinstall the latest Intel driver ONLY for your wifi card. It should work then.

On mine, I never installed the proset program. Just the driver from panasonic's website. I updated the driver, with the one from intel's website, and it still isn't working. I dont get it. Last night it connected 3 times fine, but then quit wanting to connect. It connects fine to any conventional access point.

Is Windows set to disable the device to conserve power or whatever?

Right click device in device manager. Go to properties...right click (or double-click) goto power management tab and try unchecking [Allow the computer to turn off etc.]

Good luck...it never worked for me. But since Linux works with it it's Windows causing the issue. IMHOm.

Jeff ...In My Humble Opinion maybe... :)

It is the intel Pro wireless 2915ABG I believe.

I'll check that tomorrow Jeff. I left it in the dock in the car tonight. As soon as I get out to it tomorrow I'll gibe it a shot, and report back.

Maybe a nearby wireless router is using the same or adjacent wifi channel. Might try different hotspot channels.

Disabled power management, and it still isn't working.

It does this all over the place, most notably, at our 4H grounds, where there is no wifi anywhere nearby.

On my cf52 and cf30, I am using Lenovo's Access Connections software. it works well for me. It has a good interface with a few nice extras. I had issues with Proset and Windows connection manager. I can't remember what the issues were.

Interestingly, I tried this on my cf52 Win7 and it made it WORSE. When I had power management disabled it took about 20 seconds for the wifi to acquire any signal at all. This is when I open the lid. With power management enabled, it has a signal as soon as I open the lid.
