    Hello
    Been a while..
Still have not gotten rid of the CF18 ..sentimental.

That Kingspec SSD drive purchased 3yrs ago now is still running fine...fwiw.

    Got a CF31 ..great machine. Windows 10 .. 15second boot. Spoiled me.
Sold because needed the $$..already miss.

Use the CF18 for images and some web browsing only.
Connect to monitor .. as an artist it's all I need it for really.
Technology is the antithesis to creativity dontcha know.
...keeps me focused and don't get sidetracked. no will power, what can I say.

But looking into a CF 19 MK 5 or 6 methinks..

Anyway, chip at the corner from palmrest...bugs me.

Can't determine how it is replaced, what need be done to do so..

A quick description by anyone genuinely appreciated.
    Thank you
    D

And once it is mostly pried up, plan on the final move which would be to to push the entire palmrest towards the front of the laptop.
There are a couple of small hooks under the front edge as I recall.
Check the replacement palmrest to confirm.

Also, this would be the perfect time to replace the touchpad if it needs it. An easy job now that the palmrest is off.

Easy is not a term for the CF-30 series... Maybe the 18's.....but a replacement pad is a good idea.

When lifting give the adhesive time to come loose.

    Really?
Palmrest is held on by adhesive and attached by hooks only?

    Hmm..never imagined.
    thanks a lot..
touchpad is good though..will leave it if not destroyed in process.

The palm rest on the 18's and 19 (Mk1/2) are really close. I have a old Mk1 19 that had a busted pad I put a 18 palm rest on. I had to trim a part out in the front and drilled small holes for the lights and filled those holes with clear glue. It was just a old knock around unit. Still works fine.
