Can i lock off the touch screen on my cf18?
I have searched for a instruction on the net but no go,
If i let my kids use my cf 18 with the screen clipped down and a video playing on it, they wont stop fiddling and up all sort on it.
Can i set a video running and just lock off the touchscreen so they just look and not fiddle with it?
Only a toughbook can cope with a 3 year old dribbling on the screen and a 5 year old trying to poke things in the ports!

    thanks

You should be able to disable the TS in the bios. I don't have a CF-18 available to verify.

If you can deactivate the TS in BIOS, Im not sure how permanent you want to make the TS deactivation, but you could open up the LCD panel and disconnect the TS connector from the TS PCB.

    Thanks for that,

I am just looking for or if there is a switch somewhere that i could deactivate the touchscreen and then switch it on again as need be --
It looks as if it`s going to be a little complicated! I better leave it i think!

It shouldn't be complicated to turn it off in bios. Just click and save under the Advanced tab I think it is under. I don't have my CF-18 with me right now.

Opening the lid to disable the TS is slight overkill.

A few keystrokes to enter the setup utility and disable the TS when you boot the computer is no big deal. Press F2 at the blue Panasonic screen, select "Main", select "Touchscreen", select enable/disable, Press F10 and yes to save and reboot. This is for a Mk5, others are similar. :)

Glen, thanks but I have a cf19 and you can only disable touchpad in the f2 menu. There is also no option in bios menu so am I faced with the opening the lid overkill option?

Disable it in Device manager then?

What's the full model number of your CF19?
