I have a CF19 model CF-19RHRAX1M, 8gb Memory, 1 TB hd. I ran a system health scan in bios and it failed on bluetooth, It was fine with memory, hard drive and processor. I don't use blue tooth so should I worry about this? My other issue is the battery, it was working fine until I did a battery recal, now the battery when fully charged only lasts 1 hour and when plugged in fully charged the green light flashes sometimes. When I move cursor over battery icon it shows anywhere from 3 hours to 7 hours, one time will say 3-4 then it will jump around to higher etc. Just now it said 3 hours and now it says 5:45 minutes. The battery says it was charged 40 times on the battery index. My toughbook has been used only 3800 hours. Thanks for any imput.

The battery recal should not do anything to your battery. Its there to give the 19 a better idea how much run time it will give you. With that said mine jumps around like yours does and that is why I use BatteryBar now. It gives me a better idea how my battery is.

Do this, unplug your ac adapter for 10 minutes and tell me what it does, running.

) Try to calibrate again, look at it's wear, and buy a newer battery
Re bluetooth - if you don't need it you can turn it off in BIOS and forget. -
I agree.I had several blue tabs that said they were great, unplug and kaput.

...
Once I found out that it does nothing to improve, adjust or increase life of the battery, I don't waste my time.
The battery itself doesn't even record the results....
But it sure keeps track of the charge cycle count so it can auto disable when it thinks the battery is too old...
All a recal does is to attempt to help the OS get a better idea for the meter on the taskbar.
Run a recal on a CF52...when done it says wonderful and BLa Bla Bla..
Pop that same battery into a twin CF52 and it says battery recal has NEVER been done.
With the almost always plugged in CF52 I have the BIOS set to High temp which charges to 80%....
I run them until the red light on the Toughbook comes on....I never trust the windoze thingy.
I use Batterycare... http://batterycare.net

i agree ...
the battery is headed south to join the choir invisible .
it is trying to become an ex-battery .
barring charge error because of a defective circuit (but this is disproved by the fact that you have two machines) ...
the proof is in the actual run time of the comps (assuming the same settings/current draw) . -
After the calibration process, the reported wear level is usually higher than before. This is natural, since it now reports the true current capacity that the battery has to hold charge. Lithium Ion batteries have a limit amount of discharge cycles (generally 200 to 300 cycles) and they will retain less capacity over time.
Many people tend to think "If calibrating gives higher wear level, then it's a bad thing". This is wrong, because like said, the calibration is meant to have your battery report the true capacity it can hold, and it's meant to avoid surprises like, for example, being in the middle of a presentation and suddenly the computer shuts down at 30% of charge.

thanks for all the great info, I'm glad the bluetooth error won't effect the machine...
Which battery should I buy? I want a brand new quality one. Not worried about price. But $100 or less would be nice. -

Maybe it's a better idea to buy 1-2-3 used batteries. They usually have low wear and will work well. CF-VZSU48 with blue (not yellow) tail. New batteries are either expensive and/or have a "shelf" wear.
Of course it's just IMHO. -
The battery I have now is yellow tail.

New from Panasonic is going to way over $100,for example the battery for a CF-52 is $249.Ouch.
-
So I prefer blue.
