CF19 WWAN card interchangable with CF29?
-
You can, if you have a right type of sled for cf-29 with pcie slot on it.
ohlip -
Yes ohlip is correct if you have a cf-29 sled with a mini pci-e slot it will work. You usually find the mini pci-e slots on the rev.A sleds for the cf-30.
Most of the cf-29's have a rev.0 sled and the connector is proprietary to the card being used so you cannot use a cf-19 card. All cf-19's use the mini pci-e cards for the WWAN.
Some of the mk5 CF-29's have the correct sled but i it is older than mk5 or even some of the mk5 do not have rev. A sleds.
Do you have a model number for your CF-29? If is is stock and the WWAN has not been upgraded then we can tell of the sled will work.
Honestly more than likely you will not have the correct sled and you would need to find a rev.A sled. You would be better off just buying a rev.A sled from ebay or somewhere for a cf-30 and use that in your cf-29 as the sleds are interchangeable between the cf-29 and cf-30

Zippy, Any ideas if the CF-30 Sprint Rev.A sled will work in a CF-29 MK4?
-
Yes the cf-30 sleds will work in cf-29's as far as i know. I had a cf-29 sled working i a cf-30 no problem and a cf-30 sled in a cf-29 never had an issue.
If you use a cf-30 rev.A sled in a cf-29 you cannot have OEM gps though as cf-30 sleds do not have room for the gps antenna or have a gps cable connector.

OK, that sounds great. Now I have not been able to get my ATT HSDPA to recognize in the bios of my CF-29.
-
Have you updated the bios to support EVDO?
There is a couple models that need a bios update to see the new WWAN. When i first installed the sled it did not see the modem but after i updated the bios it worked.
What MK do you have?
-James -
I have a CF-29 MK4 wireless ready model. I updated the Bios to 4.00L14 and the EC is 4.00L13. The ATT HSDPA sled doesn't show up in the bios however my Sprint EVDO Rev.A sled does but windows xp sp2 doesnt see the modem even with the wireless switch on. I'm not sure exactly whats going on?
-
I spoke to a Panasonic Tech and he said it has to do with the dip switch settings but he said he could not tell me what they were as I was not a "certified panasonic installer". Anyway, it is detected in the bios but not in windows xp. I'm looking for the dip switch settings if someone can help?
-
If it is detected in the bios windows should see it you might not have a driver installed or something. When mine was not working it did not show up in the bios at all.
Maybe try some different software from panasonic and from ATT
-James -
Keep playing with the dip switches.

So far no luck, i've searched for documents that show the dip switch settings.
