    Hi,

for my retired my colleagues have given me CF19 toghtbook with W10, but I need to have possibility
to install or boot Linux and others utilities.
The CF19 has bios password activated and I don't know, it's possible via bios dump file trace the password ?

(of course I have already tried all possibilities, bios battery removal, primary power supply etc ..)

    model CF19KDRC8WT

    many thanks in advance

I am sorry. It is against forum rules to discuss circumventing the password. We can't talk about that here.

Maybe we can find you a alternative to boot from.
Now does it not boot to a usb or cd/dvd drive? is wifi and everything else working? You may have to install a linux onto a harddrive in another computer then swap it over, then update.

I know Ubuntu 10.10 had a option to boot besides windows, and that could be installed inside of windows like a program but was a separate OS. Maybe some of the newer versions have that option as well.

I am looking now but maybe you can add a boot manager to it, then get it to boot plop first. Then you could boot from what you pretty much wanted. It would take some research and reading up to do it though. And you would run the risk of corrupting your current OS if it didn't work right.

This is a quote from NBR rules.....
As long as we stay away from that I will keep this thread open.
