    Ive dismantled my CF-19, Mk6 to try and find the hot running problem and have a couple of questions for you guy's.
    The 2 pads that are there does anyone know what I need to order to replace them, is there only meant to be 2 pads and how can I remove the heatsink from the body of the laptop, Ive removed the 10 screws but its stuck, is there anything hidden ?

    Thanks

    I normally change such heat pads for thermal paste, I did that in a lot of laptops.
    Normally paste is far better than such a standard pad.

    Sorry for the stupid question, I though the pad was designed to take up the gap between heatsink and chip

    @Liteace
    Let me see if a service manual lists the thickness's needed.

    service manual for mk5 is easier to read. It does not list thickness.

    Had a empty mk6 chassis here.
    Best measurement I got with the digital calipers is 1.5mm thick for both pads.

    If you are changing them go look at gaming thermal pad replacements. They have some made of better materials that cool a lot better than stock. Well they do on the Mk1 and 2 versions. Haven't had a need yet to try it on the Other versions. I do think I would be too big of a gap with paste as well.
