So, I flashed the wrong bios to the laptop, I flashed CF27F instead of CF27E to it, now the screen won't work. I found the correct bios for it on www.panasonic.ca , but I don't know if its working or not. Anyone have any words of wisdom that might help me?

I've created a boot floppy, put the program with the pflash and autoexec and everything on it, but it doesn't seem to do anything. I've tried several disks, thinking that disk may be bad. It seems to boot into dos fine, I can do DIR and such. All the other function keys work, I can get into bios but I dont know if I'm changing the display from external to LCD, for obvious reasons. the function key to change to internal, external doesn't seem to work. HELP!!!!

I wish I could remove the bios and flash it with a prom programmer....erg. Life. :(

I suggest a Hot Air rework station from these people:

I have the AYOUE 2702 myself; it works VERY well, even if it does LOOK a bit cheap. It includes a fair assortment of nozzles for the hot air head and the vacuum desoldering gun; plus the included soldering iron tip is a good everyday use size & heat range. It really is hard to beat, especially for the price. For most general soldering work I still prefer my Weller WTCPN (I've had for almost 30 years); but I cannot in good conscience recommend ANY soldering station that doesn't include some form of fume recovery - 30 years of inhaling lead & rosin have taken their toll on my short-term memory... 30 years of inhaling lead & rosin have taken their toll on my short-term memory...30 years of inhaling lead & rosin have taken their toll on my short-term memory...

For future reference, you can hook up a printer and hit printscreen to see what the hell is going on in pflash w/o a monitor.

okay, I got it to work, I had to use prom.exe and re-wrote the autoexec.bat file to use the current bios from www.panasonic.ca . What a pain, I'll never do that again...evil. Now I just need to figure out how to get the correct partitions back for the laptop. I'll update you guys when I figure it out. :)
