My CF28 only shipped with a modem, so I picked up a NIC and port cover from ebay. When installing the card and port cover, is there anything special I should know? Do I just drop in the NIC in the place of the modem, and connect the plug? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks! :D

You also need an NIC card or a combo card to plug both modem and ethernet port.

The port cover shipped with a NIC, and I still have the stock modem. The only cable I need to worry about is the single cable coming off the port cover, correct? (Pardon my noobiness!)

No worry! When you crack the unit there is an existing connector and cable attached to the existing cover for the modem. Just unplug it and then install what you have. It is with the same location where you unplug the old one.
