I have installed windows xp on 4 cf 29s so far with 0 issues. Until now, i installed all the drivers except for the 2 pci to cardbus drivers. I reinstalled windows and tried it again and still nothing. I even tried a totally different hard drive and caddy and it still didnt work.

I installed the inf driver several times and still nothing.

What do you mean by the "PCI to Cardbus Drivers"???

Do you have an actual driver name that you have been using?

I have never had to load a specific driver for this... That's why I asked what you were trying to load to get it to work.

If this is SBC... It could be anything as some are well worn. Shorted pins, broken pins, etc.

PCI to Cardbus drivers are part of the Chipset drivers; for most popular chipsets, they are already included in the driver cabs for XP. If you are using an OEM XP disk for another brand it may not have the correct PCI to Cardbus drivers in its cabinet; otherwise, you may need to seek out a newer build of XP.

How is it that you know you need these drivers? Are they showing up in Device Manager as a fault symbol?

What media did you use for these installations?
As usual ;) , I strongly suggest the use of the genuine Panasonic CF-29 Series Product Recovery CD-ROM set when setting up a non-OS-equipped Toughbook.
