Hey guys, I bought a CF29 off ebay just too pull everything I wanted off of it

    -integrated bluetooth done no problem
-250gb HD - haven't ghosted my current drive yet
    -CD/DVD - done no problem

I can't seem to find the right drivers for the WWAN unit. I swapped the whole slots so now I have WWAN on my computer but I can't seem to find the right software. This is a Verizon CDMA WWAN modual but I was told it can be upgraded, is this true? How can I do this? How do I get it to work?

I have a Verizon PCMCIA card that I'm currently using... but it sticks out and that sucks!

Awesome, but I just can't find the drivers! When I try the install it says the WWAN is disabled... but the switch on the computer is on. By the way the WWAN modual is the one stamped DFUP1301ZB

Did you check in the BIOS to make sure it is enabled in there?

I dont really see an option in Bios, there was something for "Wireless modem" and I set it to "Enable" then the computer wouldn't boot... so I put it on Auto... still getting the same message.

The board is marked DFUP1301ZB, is this an SB555 card? I'm not sure I have the right drivers installed, the SB555 watcher utility doesn't quite initialize it.

On the device manager it will say SB555 or 5625 If it is detected by the system. Usually with yellow mark if you don't have the right driver on it.

Try this driver : sb555g_win2k_xp.exe (2076114 Bytes, English) It is available at panasonic.ca This is self extraction file, after downloading just hit it and run.

What com port do I select when it prompts me? This could have been the problem I ran into before.

No need to assign a com port it will automatically select the comport. Mostly it assign to 7 & 8 if you have gps on the system. After the installation reboot the the pc when it did nothing I mean not detected, push the button on the switch control panel, switch it off then after 30sec let say 45 sec. then on. You will hear a certain sound that the WWAN is on. then the pc will dtect the new device and let it finish automatically. you do no nothing just let em finished the installation. The pc will take care of it. Unless your module has a problem.

It doesn't make a sound, doesn't do anything. The lights are lighting up on the front, the antenna flashes and what not, but it's just not quite working!

Do you have the BIOS flashed for support of the Verizon module? I remember seeing a BIOS upgrade for EVDO support...
