Here is my dilemma: I have a CF29E series. When trying to connect wirelessly to my new Verizon JetPack, I get to the part where the Intel Proset asks for a password(wep key) I then enter the 8 digit number on the back of the JetPack and the response is Password too short. I know that I can connect via. wifi with no problem to my home router and even my smartphone since I have done so, but what am I doing wrong? When I connect with my smartphone I have to turn off the security feature though. The Verizon store can't figure it out (keep in mind I went to a franchise store and not a corp. store)
I have gone to Intel's web site as well as the Panasonic site but I don't want to download or install anything for no reason if its not the correct fix to my issue.

Take it easy on me since I am new here. I do have some knowledge but I'm basically a novice when it comes to this sort of thing.

Welcome to the Panasonic Toughbook Forum
I wish I could help you on this but in Canada we don't have this type but my guess a little later on someone should be able to give you a hand with you problem.

Try a different software package. Uninstall Proset. Maybe try default windoze? Is it a key or pass phrase? I know the "keys" have to be a certain length. The phrases can be anything. Some software knows the difference between wpa, wep, etc.. Some you MUST specify what it is. This is from my basic networking, wlan experience. I have no experience with Verizon specifically....
Check the versions of Proset that you have. Maybe download the latest direct from Intel. Does Verizon have its own connection software? If they do, try it.

If it won't accept 8 digits it sounds like something in the settings is wrong under security type or you are running a outdated driver that doesn't have the correct option in it. I have had simular trouble with a XP machine a few years back but it was using a Mobily (Saudi Arabia) card.

Thanks for the replies. I will try and do the latest driver update from Intel. It is asking for a WEP, but since the jetpack is like a cell phone except only data, maybe its somewhere in the settings. Its going to take me some time, but I will post back if I find a solution.
