Woohoo! Got the HD caddy, a 120GB in the caddy and now I got XP SP3 installed... but I'm having problems with the hotkeys... the FN keys that control brightness, volume, etc... I can't get them to work! I've downloaded and installed the proper drivers from the Panasonic site (for the mk4)... but I still can't get those keys to work! Does anyone know which app controls or enables it?

Is it enabled in the BIOS?

I don't see a choice for hotkeys/Fn keys in the BIOS. I know it works because the brightness Fn keys work IN the BIOS, but not in Windows.

Ok, I think I solved it... downloaded the proper mk4 Hotkey drivers again... and:

    1. You CANNOT right click install the .INF file and expect them to work.
    2. In Device Manager, there may be an "unknown device." Manually install the driver. IDs read something "xxxACPIxxxx." I originally thought that was some wierd power device that I didn't find drivers for.
    3. The driver shows up under System Devices, "Hotkey Driver for Panasonic PC."

I would assume that those who restore from the Panasonic recovery disks will not have this problem. I installed from a separate OEM WinXP SP2 install and had to log into Panasonic's Toughbook site to download the appropriate and specific drivers for my CF-29.

Ah! Yes... Recovery disks install all the drivers. If you load the OS using XP disks you must manually load all the drivers.

I have swapped the Ctrl and Fn key under bios setup (after manual update drivers as mentioned above).
