ok so i have 2 questions. How good is the OEM Sony gps compared to a Sirf III? And i just bought a brand new cf29, ive seen alot of cf28 screen protectors but no 29. Do i needone? it actually looks like one is already in place. This was a never used 29 and still has all the foam and protective paper foam things on the keyboard so i dont know if Pana started with the 29 doing the screen protectors stock or what. Also why do some TB's come without the TB badge on the cover? I had to order one 3rd party. any insight would be awesome!![]()

Most cf-29's come with screen protectors from the factory. If it looks like it has one it probably does so you should be good.
If you do want to get a screen protector alot of users on here say good things about screenpatronus on ebay.
HERE Is there listing for a cf-29 screen protector.
Also you can get a OEM screen protector but they are a little more pricey.
HERE Is the OEM screen protector. There many be other places that sell it as well but they all seem to be around $70
The stock sony GPS works but is nowhere near as good as a sirf III with an active antenna ontop of the lid. I have a cf-29 with the stock sony gps and it will get a signal in open view but has a really hard time when you are under something like a roof, tree, etc. It works in the car but does drop out sometimes. It was good enough for what i was doing with it so i never had a problem.
Some of the TB's do not come with a logo if the TB was ordered for a place that will use there own logo. For example my cf-29 came from country wide insurance and they used there own logo instead of the toughbook one. Also alot of companys like verizon etc do it this way.

If your CF-29 is a touch screen then it would come standard from Panasonic with a screen protector film.
