What is the largest SD card that you know works? Not necessarily what Panasonic says. Any different driver or mod? Is the chip on the card reader? I am too tired/lazy to look right now..

Also I have a Compact flash to Cardbus/PCMCIA adapter. What's the largest card you know works in one of those in a CF30 and CF52? I have a CF30Mk2.

I am more interested in the CF30 MK2 but figured I would throw in the CF52. Please list the Mk with the model.

    Thanks

I just got two 32gb cards for the CF-U1 let me look.

It works fine, It took couple of minutes to fully install the plug and play driver but after that all was fine. I only tried one of them. Polaroid 32GB 35Mb/s Class 10/UHS-1 card.

I also see where I loaned the CF-30 Mk2 to one of my sons friends so they could all play online was rewarded with a install of Chrome and Realplayer. Excuse me, I have software to delete and someone to kill.

(Edit: also found other junk ware including my hated toolbars, he won't be touching this unit again when I put the SSD in it and get it how I want. Anyone got a good shovel?)

    just tested on CF30 mk1, a 32GB class10 SDHC card works fine (12.04LTS & Win7), roughly 7MB/s (almost as fast as it's listed on the CF-30 PDF specs, 8MB/s).

p.s. this card is read with ~15-17MB/s on a C1/CF19mk4, so the SDHC controller is faster on recent models.

Anyone try a compact flash card? I want to fill that Cardbus slot. I have a 4gb Silicon Systems SSD in it now. The Express card is filled with the Mogo Mouse.
I am trying to see how much "cheap" solid state storage space I can get. Just for giggles. I have a 16gb and a 32gb usb in the rear ports.
I figure that SD slot could be used also. 32gb SD cards are reasonably priced if I wait for a deal. NO fleabay fake crap. Probably wait for a Newegg sale.

The controller must be on the motherboard. The card holder on the cf30 has no components on it. Just a pcb the has a ffc on it.

I have tried a 64GB SD Card in my CF-30 Mk 2 and it see's it as 22GB. This is a Fry's purchase and I am pretty sure that it is a genuine 64GB. I have theories that the problem might be formatting, it was once in a video camera, or perhaps newer drivers for the SD Card reader.

I have tried to read it under both Win 7 and Ubuntu 13.10 and they both report the same size. This is perplexing as I have noticed that others have experienced success with 32GB cards.

I suppose there is the option that is just will not work with one that big, but I have dismissed that option as it does not interest me... :nah:

It seems to be formatted xFat, but it was in a camera and did not finish formatting there...

It is a full size SD card. I will check out your program as soon as I get back to real Internet!

Well thanks to Shawn, I am happy to report that my CF-30F now sees the 64GB card! I used the program that he referred me to above to format and correct it to 64GB (minus overhead). Apparently this covert video camera I had it in formatted it to Fat32, which will not work on a card that big.

However... I tried all of the patches and Microsoft Updates referenced on the SDHC page and none worked, all reporting that they were incompatible with my hardware or Operating System. I am using Windows 7x64 Ultimate on this computer.

Soooo, I am not exactly sure what is up with that... It appears that if I ever have to deep format it again I will have to use this little program.

But, this card makes my next project workable, now if I can get the card to boot from the card reader...
