    The first mod I did on my cf-29 was to upgrade the ram
    I had 256 on board and I added 512 extra of ddr to total of 768mb

    The next mod was to change the cd/rw drive to a dvd r/w drive

    I changed the 5400rpm hard drive to a 7200rpm drive

    The hard drive upgrade is not an economical option now, as the 7200rpm ide hard drives are discontinued.

    Well like Tomcat said the best upgrades are the memory. You can get a 1gb stick and then max out the memory. You have a CF-29E so it is a Mark 2 and would take DDR and not DDR2.

    Next I would go for the DVD/RW swap as tomcat said as well. Search the forum on how to do it. Make sure to read the thread as the fron pictures are not working. Just skim thru it till you get to the pics or the link to the pics.

    I would also upgrade the internal intel Wifi card to a atheros Engenius 600mw card. It picks up networks way better than any intel card ever will.

    Also I went with a yellow tab battery to get a little more life but of your stock batt is doing good maybe look into getting the multi media bay battery. That will add a few hours to the run time.

    The 7200RPM drives are now hard to find but if you want to be maxed out then ya gotta spend the money. A 5400rpm will do you good but if you can find a 7200rpm at a good price grab it.

    That is all i can think of for now. Have Fun!!!

    After you are done doing those upgrades, you might also want to consider installing a mobile F16 Module, which will make it spawn wings and fly. Also consider upgrading the metal so that when Afghanistan nukes us, the toughbook will survive and the kokroaches (stupid "bad word" finder DOESN'T WORK HERE!) will then use their super brains that they've recently acquired through the toxic waste boosting their stimuli to fly these new laptops to new heights and thus, RULING THE WORLD!!!

    Peace :)

    My thought was.... Well sure you can.... But then you could hammer out a Porsche into a Kia too.... But;
    1. It wouldn't be easy...
    2. Why would you want to?

    As usual... I can't improve upon what the others have said...

    Well honesty if you do not have the antenna already i would just scrap the whole idea. There are too many parts that you need to add the antenna and the switches. There is one member who did it but said there was like over 100 parts or something to do it and if you didnt have another TB with it installed already to use as a picture per say then it would be too hard to do.

    Well! If you can provide a rubber bumper with a small metal that will attached to the lid I can supply an antena. I have a bunch of those item less the cable. I just need to trade with that rubber bumper.
