Hello,
I recently purchased a CF31J with built in Webcam. The cam works but image is dreadful. There seems to be very little control over the camera. No ability to alter focus or brightness. As far as I am aware the drivers are all installed.
Had a search for drivers on the Panasonic Website but can't find webcam drivers.
I also have a USB digital microscope. Without the microscope plugged in I could see it in device manager and the webcam controls seemed to be as per my digital microscope.
I deleted the software for the digital microscope and device manager now shows a USB camera instead. But still no real control of the webcam.
Can anyone tell me what driver should be used for the Panasonic Webcam?
Thanks in advance
Jim

I loaded my OS via Recovery Disk so I didn't have to load individual drivers... So I can't speak to that... Except to say that Panasonic doesn't have an individual webcam driver available for download on their driver site.
Here's the issue as I see it. Panasonic includes the webcam for use with other programs. They have no installable program to test it, which I find a little strange.
I regularly attend Fuze meetings (online conference calls) and periodically need to use the webcam. It seems to work fine when there is a program that is controlling it. I would imagine that if you installed Skype or something similar that it would give you a little more webcam adjustability... -
If u want to find the drivers, write down ur Hardware-ID, which u can find in the device manager at ur nort recocnized camera and check with google. Should be something like VEN_01234&DEV_01234
Because of the software; just have a look for amcap. In this software u can adjust the cam. There is a really 100% free version out there. (Maybe this one: Free AMCap Download I'm at work, can't check this out) -
CNET has it as a direct download without any ads... It really shows what a crappy camera the CF-31 has.... Beats nothing I guess.

Thanks gents, tried the amcap download but it still gives no control of the cam, well no control over brightness being the biggest issue. Long and short of it seems to be the cam is crap. Considering the cameras supplied on cheap consumer laptops, it is a bit disappointing Panasonic. Not worth having!
