I have 6 CF-31ATAAX2M TB's, they all have win7 COA's on them, we had been using Win XP for our LEADS prior to this, but now the mandate is WIN 7.

I think, no problem, I have the restore discs that came with them, both XP and WIN7 came with the units, the disc model # is DFQM8640MA, and at the bottom it says MK1-7PM32, when I try to install these, I get a "not supported [CF31-1].

I know these are for a mark 1 and the unit is a mark 1, hopefully someone with an answer can help.

FWIW, these are I5 processor units.

Did they come with win XP installed?
If so, it's called an XP downgrade with win7 COA.
The short story is that the bios thinks it's a XP machine. I think it's called the SLIC...The DVD looks at the bios SLIC and says nope it's not a win 7 machine. So the DVD won't install. I don't know a way around it. You may have to call Heartlands.
Or manually install win7 and input the key from the coa.

"Or manually install win7 and input the key from the coa."
i would strongly suggest using "donor hdd" (or perhaps ssd) in a test unit .
once you have determined that the install and activation work (wait a few days to see if that "this copy of windows needs to be activated) , then proceed with upgrading the other units .

Wow, no answer here, but I figured it out.....

The disc I had..... the disc model # is DFQM8640MA, and at the bottom it says MK1-7PM32 didn't work, but the "other" CF31 Mark 1 disc did model #DFQM8604LA, the # on the bottom is MK1-7PM32.

I have no reason why there would be 2 different model 1 recovery discs, maybe someone can enlighten me????

Could be one is for a low version CF31 and the other is a High CF31.
The High model has better/different hardware.
This happens a lot on CF52's Main difference is the graphics card on CF52's

    On a CF52 there is a CF52 mk2LL and a CF52 mk2. People often don't realize the significance of the LL..."Lower level" Recovery DVD's for a CF52 mk2 won't work on a CF52 mk2LL etc....
