Can anyone recommend a wireless-N adapter for my CF-29?

Is there such a thing? I know there are some PC cards, but, was hoping there was a way to upgrade the internal adapter.

Just to clarify, mine is the 1.6GHz model CF-29 and came with a 802.11g. (I THINK it is a Mini-PCI Express)

The 29 uses a standard mini pci, not the pci-e. Engenious makes an N card and is probably one of the better ones.

I installed this (ebay item #230393634203) AR5416 / AR5008-3NG / AR5BMB-0072TA. It is one of the very few that are truly dual frequency. (5 GHz and 2.4 GHz MIMO Dualband). For optimum performance you should find and install a third antenna.

You would have to run the antenna yourself, check the antenna thread for ideas about where to put it.

I mounted my third antenna inside the cover above the battery compartment. I used an antenna from a donor toughbook I found here in pieces (MANY pieces). I ran the cable very carefully routing it so that it would not be caught and snagged.

I have found with this card it works VERY well. I did a bit of driving around while monitoring signal strength and picked up two N routers. With the software I was using found I was getting very good signals. In this area, wireless routers are very rare to begin with. On top of that the closest I got to these routers was at least 150 feet away. I did pick up more routers but I was only checking out the N portion. The software also shows channel, frequency, vendor, BSSID, signal strength, SSID, network mode, network type and encryption. Xirrus Wi-Fi Inspector is the software I used.
