I might buy a CF-72 mark 5. But it hasnt have a DVD/CD-rom inside.
So, my question is: Can the CF-72 mark5 boot from a USB CD/DVD rom (or USB memory stick) ?

I think there is some stuff here on that model in wiki spaces. I have only had two of them. Gave they both away years ago.
At the very least if you have a usb floppy it can boot from that. Just load plop linux on it and boot from floppy into PLOP, then tell Plop to boot from USB cd/dvd. -

Thanks Ador , for the link to the wikispaces. I read that page, but there is no mention about a sollution for my question/problem.
Does anybody else know if the CF-72 mark4 is able to bood from usb CD/DVD rom ? -

The wiki spaces have a forum to them too, look in the upper right hand corner and you will see a shape like a cartoon bubble with the number 486 next to it. Hit that and you can see all of the discussions.

I just looked up some more info. The Cf-72 all have USB 1.1 , maybe thats not good enough to boot an external CD/DVD rom. And in the BIOS , there is NO option to boot from USB. Only (harddrive, disk and CD/DVD-rom (internal).

If it would boot from a usb CD, most likely it will have to be an official Panasonic one.

I agree with Shawn on that. Also them 2 line USB cd-rom do not play nice with Toughbooks.
Can the CF-72 mark5 boot from USB CD-rom ?
