I think it's a T2 but the ' Panasonic' written across the top of the bezel makes me unsure
Any help would be greatly appreciated

A few more pictures will help. It's a business class T machine or a Let's note (same basic thing) They did get a few more models that we didn't get in the US. The T1 is one of them. Have you hooked it to a external screen to see what the specs are hardware wise from the bios.

I'm fairly sure it is a CF-T2 but the only thing which suggests otherwise is the Panasonic written on the top left hand side of the bezel. Any pictures of the T1 or the T2 I've seen have the Panasonic written bottom centre on the bezel -
@Shawn Hopefully not too badly

There is a american version of the T2 and a let's note version. We will have to see when you get it in your hands. (the T1 is Pentium 3, Pentium M on the T2)

After a bit of research last night I'm fairly sure it's either a CF-R1 or R2 which looks like it's going to be next to impossible to get parts for

Well... i hope you find spares, screens are ofetn the same for more models, so if you can get confirm of the screen (you have to disassemble the screen and get the part code) you can search for another computer with the same screen, just a tought.

Having been though several of the T series I think some things will swap. Just have to take some measurements when you get it in for stuff like the screen.

These are both exceptionally rare and quite old. Pentium 3M era if I'm not mistaken. PC133 RAM and PATA drives.
I've owned several CF-R4 and CF-R6 Let's Note models and they are lovely machines.
Having said that, the idea that you must rip the entire laptop apart to swap the hard drive is not something I was pleased with, especially for the fact that it's very easy to screw up the keyboard cable while re-assembling the unit.
I'll be watching this thread...
Good luck. -
Still hasn't arrived. I' was hoping for a touch screen device to play around with. The spec on the r1's are very basic by today's standard, if i do find a compatible screen it's going to be hard to find a use for it. The trouble is I think I need to get my hands on a vga adapter to hook it up to an external monitor to make sure it's still working. I think there's a reason these are quite rare! -
I can't really make heads or tails from the picture that you've posted, but I've never seen a R-series unit that had anything but U.S./Japanese combo keyboard, and this one doesn't look quite like what I remember from my own machines. It *might* be an old T-series model...
Do keep us posted either way... -
I've had a bunch of T5,7,8's and W7's.I will be interested in seeing what you have.I still have a T5 battery kicking around along with T7,T8 parts.
took another look,T series I believe.
Can you help me identify this Toughbook?
