    What do you recommend??

I see that I have the Aptio AMI bios.

You are correct, I just used the Aptio version and it worked. I backed up the bios. I have version L17 on mine. I got L16 from a forum member that I may try, if it will allow me to go back. I am still trying to get a different wifi card to work. The member said he was able to update his WLAN card.

Afuwin will not backup the full size of ur ROM, Thats why I use BIOS_Backup_ToolKit_V2.0.
With the MMTOOL 4.50.0.23 u can load and unload parts of the BIOS (also from different machines) and with AMIBCP4.53 u can switch on and off things....

Won't I run into trouble using different software to backup and restore? Especially if some backup more than others?
Will mmtool restore the full bios that backup toolkit backed up?

No. One is for full backup, the other one is enough for simple modfications.
What is the problem with mmtool? I don't get it. ^o^ Had u tried the tools? U will understand, if u use it. ;)

mmtool does not show anything that looks like a ven code for the wwlan. I can't find anything to change. Someone on the forum said he swapped the wwlan card on his machine with no problems. His bios is version 16, mine is version 17. I have his model number. It is close enough to be the same as mine. I was figuring on trying his bios since I can't find anything to change in mine.

I tried a different software. Can't remember name right now. It showed wireless config with ven codes. I think that software was read only.
I can send you a copy of my bios if you want to examine it.

    Thanks

I don't think yours will work.
You have the vPro which is hardware based. Yours is also wireless ready, but I doubt that's an issue for the bios. From what wiki says, I bet vPro would be a problem to crossflash.

I may not mess with it anymore anyway. Since I put in the Intel 5300 (original was Intel 5100) and added the third flag antenna my connection speed went from 72mbps to 130mbps. The Intel 6250 in the cf30 gives me 140mbps. I don't think the 10mbps more is going to be worth all the fighting with the bios whitelist....Maybe I want a 6300 with 3 antennas in the cf30......Somebody stop me...................Do they make a card with 4 antennas?........help I'm an addict.........More power Scotty.....I gotta have more power.........but captain that's all she has..............

I agree with you, I would hate to see you end up with a 52 door stop :err:
