Yesterday I received a CF-52G that I bought from a forum member. The Canada Customs paper work said the box had been opened. When I got the unit out and checked it over I found these 'mods' had been done.

There was also some other scuffs and small dings.

I knew before I contacted the seller that it was in great shape when originally box, and that was verified. Now for the long process of getting compensation.

I hate it when that happens. Was it packed well? Even though the fully rugged models are pretty much indestructible I always wrap mine in plenty of bubble wrap and then encapsulate it in cellophane wrap. You never know...

My packed boxes you could throw off a roof and they would bounce.

Morgan... That almost looks like someone did that on purpose!

The top of Niagara Falls seems like a pretty dumb place for a Customs Office if you don't mind me saying... :D

"Morgan... That almost looks like someone did that on purpose!"
My first thought was two adolescent twinkies in the Customs Office trying to prove how baddd they were.

Thanks Blair, replied to your PM.

I have noticed that almost all shipments to me recently have been opened. Someone at CC must have finally logged into CPAC. :D
I know it was done on purpose. Yes, the unit was well packaged, lots of bubble wrap, inside a box inside a box with more bubble wrap and packing. And I know/am sure that the damage did not happen after they released the box.
They also fired the unit up and must have been pissed to encounter a first boot screen. :D Nothing here, nothing to see, move along. Maybe that is why they threw the unit against the wall, onto the floor, smacked themselves in the head with it or what ever they did to it.

I didn't have the time to call them today. Will do it Monday morning.

    Nice find grey-beard. Thanks. :D

 Yeah I work in a shipping dept. but I aren't got nothing to do with "Canada Customs" . This is the main reason why I have all my stuff shipped to my USA address and then I pick it up and bring it across myself. If they want to check it out I am there to watch or help which has happened before. A little advice when shipping a laptop across the border into Canada its best to not have a hard drive installed in it. The only time mine is looked at is when it has one...I was told by a very good source to dump the hdd before you bring it over.

When I shipped a CF-18 for a member overseas I changed the boot order so the hard drive wouldn't boot, then had a note on it "turns on but then turns off". It breezed right though customs and the little boy he wanted it for I think is still using it.

By the looks of it they tried to take the bezel off of it.
