I just got my CF 18 from JB007rules... Thanks!!

I want to install the Hitachi drive into it and was curious about the driver package. I know the package for the 29 wont work with the 18... or will it?

If it wont.. Is there a one stop place to DL them all? I know I can get them from the Panasonic site...but there are a few sites on the net that appear to have them all packaged up in 1 download.

    Heres a question...

Cant I just make a set of recovery CD's off the current HD and then reinstall windows on the new HD? I have a copy of windows I can re-install...

if you have arconis partiton magic or norton ghost, etc. you can make a recovery image that you can use to install your system just as it is on to a new drive.

Thanks... I just bought a HD enclosure...so I should be able to get it done now.

I needed a BU HD for the desktop anyway, so this will work out great.

    Opie,
I've been down that road, asked the very same question (but I can't find that thread) and didn't understand half of what I read from googling. In the end, went back to Ghost.

    TBtech,
You meant Acronis True Image and Powerquest Partition Magic (... bought over by Symantec??). I vote for Ghost.

Well, everything seems to be working. What I did was install the os on the new drive and then placed the old drive in the enclosure. From there I hooked the old drive up via the usb ports and dragged the util and driver folders onto the desktop. From there I just opened the set-up file for each one and I was on the way.

Only one thing isnt working, the buttons on the front panel for the keyboard, rotation and whatever the other ones are. The brightness buttons work.

In the device manager there isnt anything missing.

Alex, yes I did. I found my mistake.

As I was installing the drivers I tried to install one of the hotkeys drivers before I should have. When it wouldnt let me I moved on, and forgot to come back to it. I found it this AM and everything is working perfectly.
