Just wondering how much difference there is in performance between a mk3 and mk4.
Currently I am using a 19KDRCGCM and Like it a lot but have seen a 19 mk4 touchscreen at a reasonable price but how much better on performance, battery life etc is the i5 540m compared to the Core2Duo SU9300or do I hang on for a mk5.
Also can a mk4 be converted to dual touch as I like the option so much.

I think there is a sense to upgrade MK3->MK4 only in case of the very close price.
1st gen i5 is faster than C2D and works very well, but same 8GB max memory, same screen, same battery life.
If you are satisfied with MK3 you can wait for good deals for MK7 etc :) MK3 is veeery good CF-19 model.

True the cf19 mk3 is great, especially after a cf 18 mk3 and looking at it I think I will hold on to my money.
It's swings and roundabouts for the mk3 to mk4. Some thing gain but others lose and my mk3 has nearly 6000 hours less in the bios than the mk4 I have seen

    These hours mean nothing.
And the greatest performance boost you can get is installation of fast SSD. I will never use HDD as a system disk again.

Yep, I have a X25 intel G2 160 GB SSD in my Mk3, that is my main rig for travel. If you just want a boost in performance that will do it. The Mk3 is at SATA 2 interface speed, but a newer SSD you won't notice much faster on the read speed, but the newer gen SSD's will be a lot faster on the write speed. With the SSD I can barely play skyrim on the Mk3, with out it I don't think it would play at all.
