    Cf 27 boot error 'Remove Disks or Media'

    When i boot my CF-27, i get the message 'remove disks or other media, Press any key to restart' this is with no CD or DVD or Floppy in it. I has Plop boot manager on the HDD as i planed to install win2k

    Any help would be appreciated

    Could be that your HDD has gone south or your MBR (Master Boot Record) is corrupted. Search google for "fixmbr" to build a dos repair disk to fix the MBR if your disk is good.

    It looks like your boot manager has damaged the MBR; KLonsdale is right. Either you need to try a different Boot Manager (Hopefully it will be able to repair it), or repair the MBR from the console.

    If you have a DOS boot floppy, boot from it and type FDISK /MBR.

    That should restore the MBR, and hopefully all will be right again.
