    Cf 27 dialup modem removall

    My cf 27 has a dial up modem. i dont want it cause it has no use anymore. cdoes it use up a serial port of somthing, because i could use the serial port for a blutooth adaptor or at least make my TB a bit lighter. Thanks

    The modem is on a mini pci slot. Unfortunately I don't know of anyone that has been able to use this mini pci slot for anything other than a factory modem. Maybe you can be the first.

    The mini pci slot in the CF-27 is somewhat of a mystery, no one is sure whether the slot was hard wired to only work with the aztec dial up modem or whether it is a bios limitation.

    True, if you have a serial port, internal gps comes to mind, since the palm rests are plastic an active patch antenna could work with little modification, however I never cracked the case on mine, so I don't know for sure.
