I have a cf 28 "p" that I have had for a little over a year now, I was wondering how one would update the BIOS, if that's possible. I this just something that would be downloaded and then installed, like some new software?

I really don't know how this works!

    Thanks,

    -DDAYMEN (3 cf-27's, 1 cf-28)

Oh, and I have a 120 gig H.D. that I thought I might put in either the cf-27 or the cf-28. do I need to make adjustments so that it (they) would recognize the larger H.D.?

In order for you to update the bios. you need a floppy disk drive and of course floppy disk. Dowload the latest bios for your unit and then extract it to floppy disk. Then set your bios boot menu to floppy first but make sure you have a full charge battery on it and the AC plug, plug on. Do not interfer when it is on progress of updating the bios. Let it completely finish otherwise you will be in trouble. Good luck.

Great! I saw on the cf-28 page a link for different programs, and I believe the current bios was on there, or at least a newer version.

Any type mods/changes I need to do to windows to use a larger hard drive?

Nope... Just install the larger drive after cloning or install and load software and drivers... Or use Recovery Disks...

Got it, thanks again. My next project is to install an internal Wi-Fi card, so I don't have to use the one I have now, sticking out of the PCM slot.
What is a good Wi-Fi card to use for this? I read the threads on how to do this, I currently use a Cisco Systems 350 series wireless lan adapter.

About the cards. I have two Cisco 350 cards in the internal slots on two of my 28's and I also have two of the 8602 cards in two of my other 28's. As far as pulling in a signal the 350 cards smoke the 8602. In fact I can't even get a usable signal with the 8602 cards and get a steady, very low, but dependable signal from the 350's. If you can get by with only wireless B, I'd save some money and go with the Cisco 350. The 8602 does have A B & C, so that is a plus. I'm getting my wireless from the neighbors wireless network which is in the upstairs of his house at least 150 feet away. The 8502 just can't cut it. Hope this helps out. Spark
