You need to post the full model # so we can help.
    Look in the bios.
Hit F2 when booting, its listed in the first screen, Information, second line,it will be a # like cf-18xxxxxxx
Or its on the bottom of the laptop.
If you have a coa on the bottom for wxp tablet, its a digitizer. And you need xp tablet restore disks.
If your coa is for wxp pro its a touchscreen. And you will need xp pro restore disks.
I have xp pro restore disks for your model (cf-18D mk-2 model) if it is a touchsreen.
The reststore disks are not interchangable, will only work based on your windows licence.

    Ok.
    You have a touchsreen
    wxp pro
your Ram is 256 on board
You can add 512 extra of 200 pin pc2100 ddr ram ,for a max of 768mb
For hdd, you should not have a size limitation
Your hard drive is an ata interface not a sata
Thats important to note as most new hard drives for sale are sata now.
    Bios is current.
The panasonic retore disks you need are
    MK-2XP1AM-TSW
PM me on restore disks as I have a set

Please do not ask in this public forum for someone to break the law by making copies of copywritten software.

FYI... Heartlandsi.com sells Recovery DVDs and CDs for a very good price.

The mk-2 digitizer restore disks for xp tablet edition are not common
The last set that I saw for sale on eBay went for about $150

    Three options
Find someone with tablet edition and load it on from their disk with your coa on the cf-18
Check with Heartland services if these older restore disks can be purchased
Purchase xp and load , then search the forum for the way to get the cf-18 up and running using a standard windows disk

did get it up using XP pro, adn have found the thread CF 18 post it note by high order 1 on the proper sequence of installing the drivers and where to get them, is this thethread you are referring to?

HEartland no longer has the restore disk for sale and have said they will only image it to a panasonic HD, and not to the one in the computer now, even though it is the origional HD that came with it. I presume that the tablet ed you referr to is both mk 2 and build specific to get it to install
    any other suggestions, thanks

Are you deliberately trying to **** me off??? DO NOT ask for copies, to borrow or whatever else...

PLEASE READ the thread that is stickied onto the top of the forum entitled, "MANDATORY READING for ANYONE who posts in the Panasonic Forum!"
