Set your computer back to an earlier day (system repair days before it happened)
It could be due to recent programs loaded

Have you tried reading some of the stickies here to find the download sites and then downloading the driver? Or try reinstalling it via Device Manager. Just update the mouse driver and point it to C:/Utils/Drivers/Mouse (or touchscreen) and let it go... It should reinstall.

There are some diagnostic software that will throw a wrench in the works by screwing with your drivers... ESPECIALLY Some of the automotive diagnostic software. AND especially if you are trying to several different types of auto software... I have a customer going through heck now as his Ford, Chrysler and Honda diagnostic software will make his system go haywire. He tried partitioning and installing them but they still don't like to play together.... So I was thinking about trying Virtual Machine to see if that would work.

yes i used honda fine and ford fine. its when i installed gm tiss 200 with a crack for the usb dongle that i think, think that it died. not sure but i took the program out and it didnt fix it. i reverted to first day i had it it didnt fix it. id like to find a way to reformat and hope thats it and leave it off and use my other one for gm. but what am i gonna do. the disks i dont have to reformate. hes sedind them to me now. ill try that. one thing i didnt do was take lcd cover off and look at touch cable i did look at the ribbons under keyboard they are fine. so its either a driver issue since an install or the cables. causei reinstalled driver like it should be and still no touch. the screen flips the mouse work its all fine just no touch. so im gonna pull the lcd screws and look at the lcd touch cable while waiting for the disks to formate and do oem install again. well see unless you all have other ideas? or where to get install oem disk for download ill do it now. i have cd key on the bottom and its valid for xp pro buti dont want to use just any disk for drivers issue. any other ideas ive missed?

As I stated... One of my customers had this issue and is STILL trying to sort it out. It may be that you need to partition the disks and run the GM program on another partition separate from the others. He has pretty much all the software for all manufacturers bit some of them will NOT run, work and play well on the same drive.... He even went so far as to buy extra hard drive caddys for extra drives so that he could plit up the ones that would and would not work together.

He too experienced all sorts of driver issues. Unfortunately... I doubt there will be a "quick fix" for you. You may need to play around for days or weeks to make everything work correctly.

But you can start out by reading the stickies on how to properly install drivers unless you have recovery disks. You can install XP from any XP Pro disk using the COA key on the bottom.. But them you would have to install ALL your drivers manually... Which can be a pain... especially on the CF-18/19 series.

Look very closely at the COA and make sure you copied it correctly. If you have an XP Pro disc and the unit has an XP Pro COA, there is no reason why it should not work. I have used Dell discs for ages and they work fine. I would suggest installing the drivers manually, using the correct ones for your model. If you get the "this model not supported" when you try to install, just use a ZIP (freeware) program to unzip and then proceed. The install instructions that are in the same area as the rest of the drivers are a good guide as to how to install each driver. It can be VERY frustrating (I just got through with most of the drivers on a W7 install on a CF-18 MK2, but still have not got all of them to work), so take your time and let us know how it goes and if you need any more assistance.

If you have enabled it in the BIOS (F2 at boot-up) and have the drivers properly loaded you have a bad touchscreen. Your only hope my be fishing out some gunk between the touchscreen and frame bezel. Use something the thickness of a plastic soda bottle. (Cut it to about .25" X 2") CAREFULLY run it around between the screen and frame to see if you can get anything out of it. You can try the same thing around the touchpad.

If you do all of this and still nothing, if you are the original owner you may try a warranty claim... If not you have a bad touchscreen.

You may be able to remove the LCD cover (fairly easy to do) and check that the touchscreen ribbon cable is inserted correctly into the little PCB. I have had one unit in the past where it wiggled out and worked great after I reinstalled the cable. But this is also symptomatic of the touchscreen going bad... You'll know when you try to reinstall the ribbon cable.

Did you bother to download a service manual for it? It shows clearly in there what needs to come apart.... Basicially you remove the three black covers and then some smaller screws around the edge.
If you do not have the service manual... Let me know and I'll try to email it to you...

ok the guy who sold this to me told me that there is a board for 79 dollars behind the lcd thats bad. panisonc told me the touch screen is bad. they want 300 plus 130 labor. hes telling me the parts 79 bucks its a touch pad board or something. i had panisonc on the phone they had me install a driver they sent me noting. they sent me another file and did a test with that, nothing again. they said call them get price call us back. i said whats wrong he said the touch needs replacing. is it the touch, a board, im confused. i know there are parts of systems that can go bad, like the power lug on the mobo. they want to install a new mobo when you can buy a new power plug. my question is is there some board thats 79 bucks that i can install. or is the whole touch system bad. and where do you recomend i gte parts, you all have a good supplier?
