just exactly how does one use/turn on/etc. the infrared on a cf 27?
I loaded a "shortened" version of win. 2000 on mine, want to use the infrared to transfer stuff between my cf-27 and my pda.......I don't know how to access the infrared program or whatever.

    Any help would be great!

    thanks,
    -DDAYMEN

You should find it in Control panel
Windows 2000's Wireless Link program lets you transfer data to other computers or devices with infrared devices

Man... It's been awhile since I did irda data transfer.... As I recall, as Tomcat said, you need to enable it... Not sure if there is an enable/disable in the BIOS on the CF-27... But turn it on in Control Panel... I recall that after that... It would automatically sense if there was another irda around. I used to have an irda printer that I would use with my old Dull laptop as well as an old CF-28.

    Dwight,
I'm almost certain you need to enable it in bios, and I would probably have disabled it before I shipped them to you.

I could not find anything in the control panel that looked like it might pertain to the irda, so I guess I'll check it out in the BIOS. Why do I want to use this?
just something to use with my pda, i used to get different applications from other people at work by using the irda on the pda's. probably not the most efficient way to do it. If Icannott figure it out, then so what!

Hey thanks everybody for the replies!

I may be slow to respond to threads, I usually don't leave my computer on, and I get so busy with other stuff I sometimes forget that I have posted a question!

Also, bought a cf-28 7/24, should be getting it in a few days, can't wait to check it out.

You need to either install a driver or enable it somewhere.... Look under Connections....

Check your device manager to see if the device is there (which it should), and then check the properties and make sure it is enabled and has the driver. You can then check the control panel again, as it should be showing there also.
